Our Story

Interfaith4Palestine (formerly “Interfaith4Ceasefire”) is a network of spiritual leaders, faith-rooted activists, and communities from the Bay Area which came together to advocate for permanent ceasefire in Palestine as a shared religious value. We believe this requires ending the US – Israeli war against Palestinians which has resulted in war crimes, crimes against humanity, massive suffering, and genocide. We support sovereignty for the Palestinian people in their own land, return of all hostages and political prisoners to their families, and a massive rebuilding effort that restores Palestinian life throughout Gaza and the West Bank.

Our common values bring us together. We advocate for a future where all communities are able to thrive, where human rights, justice, equality, and freedom are embedded in all expressions of communal life. We acknowledge the ways in which the struggle for immigrant rights, trans rights, BIPOC rights, women’s rights, health care, and abolition are interconnected with Palestinian human rights. We see divestment and a US-Israeli arms embargo as a multi-faith spiritual practice that is required by our faith traditions when harm is pervasive. Our shared spiritual values call us to invest our tax dollars and community resources in life-sustaining needs at home and abroad so that the sacredness of all people is secured.

Interfaith4Palestine shares a common prayer for the safety and well-being of all people in the region and throughout the world.
